Former Van Halen Bassist Says He's Looking Forward To New Album

Former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony says he's looking forward to hearing his old bandmates new album. The rockers will release their new album A Different Kind of Truth on February 7 and it includes songs that Anthony helped write dating as far back as the 1970's. While speaking with Planet Rock, Anthony said he has no intention of trying to score a writing credit on the album: "I don't want to do anything. I just let it be," Anthony said.

Jack White Releases 'Love Interruption;' To Release First Solo Album

Jack White has dropped the single "Love Interruption" and announced his first solo album. The single is available for digital sale on iTunes and will be released in a special vinyl edition (with the B-side "Machine Gun Silhouette") on February 7. White also revealed that his first solo album, Blunderbuss, will be released on April 23. "I've put off making records under my own name for a long time but these songs feel like they could only be presented under my name," said White.

Shinedown To Headline Avalanche Tour This Spring

Rockers Shinedown will headline a series of dates as part of the second annual Avalanche tour, and will be bringing a whole slew of up-and-comers along for the ride. Adelita's Way, New Medicine and Art of Dying will accompany the headliners on the tour starting in late March on the West Coast. The trek will take all of the groups to the Atlantic Ocean in time for an April 25 gig in Baltimore, Maryland.

Anthrax's Scott Ian Hospitalized While Drummer Leaves Tour

Anthrax's Scott Ian was hospitalized and forced to temporarily step aside from the band's tour at the same time drummer Charlie Benante left the tour. Ian contracted a viral infection on January 25 and was hospitalized near his Los Angeles home, where doctors ran a battery of tests, rehydrated him, and ordered him not to fly for at least 24 hours. Anthrax guitarist Rob Caggiano explained: "We didn't want to cancel any of the concerts."

Guns N' Roses Announce Mini-Tour

Legendary frontman Axl Rose will take the current incarnation of Guns N' Roses back on the road, bringing the boys to a half-dozen tour stops in the U.S. this month. The Gunners will start off the trek with three nights in New York City, playing smaller-sized venues in Manhattan before heading west for a gig in Chicago. Next the band will play Silver Spring, Maryland outside of D.C. and wrap things up at Atlantic City, N.J.'s House of Blues.
